The Florida Procedure Form 12.900(h), known as the Notice of Related Cases, plays a crucial role in family law proceedings within the state. This form is designed to inform the court about any other cases that may be related to the current family law matter. A case is considered related if it involves the same parties, children, or issues, and is pending at the time the family law case is filed. It is also pertinent if the related case affects the court's jurisdiction or if there is a potential conflict between orders from different cases. The form must be completed and filed with the circuit court clerk along with the initial pleading of the family law case. Additionally, it requires that copies be served to the presiding judges and all parties involved in the related cases. This ensures that everyone is aware of the interconnected legal matters, promoting transparency and efficiency in the judicial process. It is essential to follow the specific instructions provided, including the requirement to use black ink and type or print the information clearly. For those unfamiliar with legal processes, guidance is available through resources such as the "General Information for Self-Represented Litigants," which can help clarify any questions regarding the completion and submission of the form.
